The kings ball

The silver 'kings ball' is presented to the king of the PC, that he may keep until the next PC. The ball was donated to the PC in 1883 by the provincial governor of that time, mr. Binnert Philip Baron van Harinxma thoe Slooten, and has become (symbolically) invaluable over the years. For this reason the Permanent Committee have made a true to nature replica of de ball in the year 1997. At the kings ball the family arms of the Van Harinxma family, a poem of Jacobus van Loon and an ancient picture of the match is shown. The picture below shows the present queen of the Netherlands Her Majesty Queen Beatrix who presents the kings ball to Sjouke de Boer, who was the king of the PC in 1973.
